Now in its 34th year of operation, Soule Homestead Education Center (SHEC) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit agro-educational and conservation learning center. Its mission is to support and maintain a community-based education center for the benefit of area schools and the general public while preserving and enhancing the historic Soule Homestead.
The farm provides hands-on learning opportunities, including environmental programs, organic farming activities, traditional crafts, cultural events, and more. Open to the public free of charge almost every day from sunrise to sunset, the property offers a space for visitors to explore, meet the animals, hike, picnic, take a class, or volunteer. Fees are only required for workshops, events, and programs that help support the farm. Guests can further support the center by attending these events or becoming members.
Public restrooms, including a changing table, and a drinking fountain are available. The farm typically closes only for paid events, and group visits are limited during field trip season due to high program activity in the immediate farm area.
